The Royal Conservatory Certificate Program

The Royal Conservatory Certificate Program, is a comprehensive evaluation of a student’s current abilities on their instrument. For over 125 years, The Royal Conservatory has provided an internationally renowned standard of music achievement through an effectively sequenced course of study from beginner to advanced levels. Students are challenged to proficiently learn 4-5 pieces of music as well as being tested on technical  and ear training/sight-reading skills. Students and teachers work together to choose and prepare selections of repertoire, as well as preparing technical and musicianship requirements according to the syllabus/program guidelines. Upon successful completion of the assessment, students have access to the adjudicator’s comments in detailed marking forms. The process is designed to recognize individual development and achievement and offer positive and constructive feedback that enhances a student’s current studies and provides an opportunity for growth.  Preparing for the test takes a great deal of dedication and discipline, while successfully completing an examination builds self-confidence and helps students develop a sense of pride. We can discuss whether participation for your child is the right step.
